Material Options
All materials offered by OMT have been tested to withstand harsh marine environments. When selecting materials for your panel, it's important to consider not only appearance but also functionality, mounting preference, lighting and the size of the panel.
Having a range of panel materials that can accommodate different types of instruments and displays is also crucial for providing flexibility and meeting the specific needs of different boats and marine applications.

Premium
Dura - Matte
Our Dura-Matte dash/switch panel material is our most popular option due to its numerous benefits. With its slightly textured surface, Dura-Matte is resistant to swirls, fingerprints, and watermarks, making it a great choice for those who want a clean and sleek look without constant upkeep. Additionally, Dura-Matte is scratch-resistant and won't reflect sunlight as much as glossy black panels, ensuring a longer-lasting and more functional panel.
This versatile material can be used for a small switch panel or to cover the entire dashboard for a fully blacked out look. It is compatible with illuminated push button and rocker switches, allowing for customisation and flexibility. We also offer epoxy glued hidden bolts on the back of the panel as an optional feature, which provides a screw-free, cleaner appearance. LED backlighting is available with acrylic inserts. Lastly, our "reverse flush" display integration option is available for those who want an even more seamless installation.

Carbon Fibre
When it comes to dash panel applications, we believe in using only the best materials. That's why we've chosen 4mm rock solid carbon fibre sheets with twill and plain finish options, instead of vinyl. This high-quality material is not only durable, but it also looks sleek and modern. Whether you need a small control panel or a full dash panel, carbon fibre is a great option.
Rocker switches and push button switches, in either stainless steel or black anodised finishes can be installed on our carbon fibre panels.
For graphics, such as switch labels or boat names/logos, we use flush fit inserts that are placed in CNC routed pockets. This ensures a clean and professional look. Plus, installation is a breeze - you can use screws, adhesives or our hidden bolts to achieve a clean and seamless appearance.

Glossy Black
UV-treated gloss black is currently one of the most sought-after finishes in the boating industry. At OMT, we offer custom-made panels with this finish, which can range from a single switch panel to a full dashboard equipped with sounders, gauges, and other accessories. Depending on the application, we use a range of thicknesses from 3 to 10mm. Our panels can be mounted using screws, adhesives (such as neutral-cured silicones or 3M VHB double-sided tape), or our hidden bolts, which are glued onto the back of the panel using structural epoxy. Our panels are made from natural core materials, which allows us to offer LED panel lighting for the switch labels and boat name/logo.

Matte Black
Matte black acrylic is a popular material option for our switch panels as it complements white fiberglass surfaces beautifully and requires less maintenance than panels with a glossy or mirrored finish. At present, we do only stock this material in 3mm width sheets, therefore it may not be the best choice for larger dash infills unless the panel is fully supported by the dash where gauges/screens are located. The natural color of the core material lends itself well to both illuminated and non-illuminated graphics, making it a versatile option for a range of applications.

Matte White
If you're looking for a clean and minimalist design for your dashboard switch panel, our matte white finish is an excellent choice. This finish complements black push button or rocker switches particularly well, giving your dash a sleek, modern look. It can be easily mounted using screws, neutral cured silicone, or double-sided tapes, depending on your preference. The core material is solid black, which provides excellent contrast after engraving. If you are however a night-time fisherman, please be aware that backlighting is not an option with this finish.
At present, we do only stock this material in 3mm wide sheets, therefore it may not be the best choice for larger dash infills unless the panel is fully supported by the dash where gauges/screens are located.

Brushed Silver
Our impact-resistant modified acrylic with brushed silver metallic finish is a favorite among our customers. It pairs perfectly with white fiberglass or black aluminum, and complements black or stainless steel switches. You can mount it with screws, neutral-cured silicone or UHB double-sided tape.
At present we only stock 3mm sheets therefore we recommend that it is used for smaller projects. The solid black core material provides excellent contrast after engraving but unfortunately backlighting is not possible.

Matte Blue
Although matte blue acrylic may not be a commonly used material in everyday applications, it can look really stunning when engraved to expose it's bright white core. If you're looking to add some color to your boat, matte blue is definitely worth considering. It pairs well with both black and stainless steel switches and can be mounted using screws, neutral-cured silicone or UHB double-sided tapes. At present we only stock 3mm sheets therefore we recommend that it is used for smaller projects. Additionally, the non-translucent white core material means that backlighting is unfortunately not an option.

Textured Black
Our textured black material, made of impact-resistant modified acrylic, is one of the toughest options we offer. With an extra-hard and thick surface coat, it's highly resistant to scratches and won't show any swirls or finger marks. This material is particularly effective when used with white fiberglass or black aluminum, and complements both black and stainless steel switches. It can be mounted using screws, neutral cured silicone or UHB double-sided tape.
Please note that we only stock 3mm sheets of this material, so it may not be the best choice for larger dash infills. The core material is solid white, which provides excellent contrast when engraved, however also means this material cannot be paired with backlighting.
